Where the billing differs

NeverBounce documents different billing rules for single and bulk verification: single requests cost one credit even for duplicate requests and bad syntax, while bulk jobs count unique addresses that pass syntax validation. emailverifier.dev reserves one credit for each unique, non-empty address in a bulk upload and spends one credit for every completed authenticated email or domain check. Duplicate and blank bulk rows are skipped. Decide which model matches the traffic you actually process.

  • You want one-time credits that do not expire rather than sizing a recurring verification budget.
  • You need an API for your application plus hosted CSV or TXT list verification.
  • You want project-scoped API keys, balances, and bulk job history.
  • You prefer a four-state result plus a boolean flagged value for application policy.

Choose NeverBounce when

  • You want NeverBounce-specific result flags and established bulk operations.
  • Its bulk syntax and duplicate billing rules better match your lists.

Migration checklist

  1. 1Replace the single-check call with POST /api/v1/verify and a JSON email body.
  2. 2Send the project key in X-API-Key or Authorization rather than in form data or query parameters.
  3. 3Map valid to deliverable, invalid to undeliverable, and disposable or catchall to risky.
  4. 4Keep unknown as its own path and decide whether your product should allow, review, or retry it.
  5. 5Upload CSV or TXT files through the hosted bulk verifier and download the completed CSV.

Test your real integration.

Start with 1,000 credits. Keep NeverBounce running until your status mapping and fallback policy behave as expected.
